Treatments

I offer different types of treatments, which are all personalised to your specific circumstances and preferences. Have a look below at the options, and if you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the longest established forms of healthcare in the world. Acupuncturists are trained to use subtle diagnostic techniques that have been developed and refined for thousands of years. We insert very fine needles at precisely located points to connect with your body’s qi, or energy. We will decide which points are right for you after a detailed consultation covering every aspect of your health and lifestyle. Treatment may include moxa and auricular acupuncture. You can find more information about Acupuncture below here on this page.

Initial Treatment: 90 mins | £60

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Facial Rejuvenation (Cosmetic) Acupuncture is a centuries old practice. It is a gentle, effective, and safe way to combat the signs of aging and erase years from your face without the risk or downtime of surgery or injections. It builds collagen, tones muscles and improves circulation.

In your initial session I’ll go through your health background and we’ll discuss what you are happy with about your appearance and what areas you would like to improve. A skincare analysis can be requested to check if your skincare is appropriate for your skin. And I always recommend a series of treatments for lasting results. A pre-treatment questionnaire is required for all cosmetic treatments.

Gua Sha and Cupping, Indonesian Face-Lift Massage

Facial Cupping and Gua Sha, and Indonesian Face-Lift Massage, can be transformative to your appearance either as stand-alone treatments, or as an addition to Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture.

Special techniques within each treatment will stimulate collagen induction, reduce puffiness & dark circles, diminish lines, drain nasal sinuses and stimulate the lymphatic and circulatory system.

Although you can get visible results after one treatment, a course of treatments may be recommended, depending on what you wish to achieve.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that's used to treat skin concerns by stimulating collagen production. It can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as scars.

There are a number of contraindications for microneedling, so if you are interested please get in touch to discuss. There is also guidance to follow after the treatment, such as not wearing make up for at least 24 hours.

There is a minimum of 4-6 weeks between microneedling sessions, and I do offer bundles of three sessions which saves you £60.

Battlefield (Ear) Acupuncture

I offer Battlefield Acupuncture, which is a form of auricular therapy (i.e. ear) that has proven results for pain relief, both acute and chronic. It involves tiny needles that can be left in the ear for a few days to provide longer-term pain relief. This can be booked as a separate session, or can be used alongside a 'normal' acupuncture treatment if necessary too.

Acupuncture for children

It’s not just about needles! Children respond well to acupuncture, but I also use a range of other modalities to help restore a child’s health and wellbeing, for example, acupressure, cupping, moxa or tui na (a special form of massage). And if they are happy for needles I only use the finest and highest quality needles available – the same that I use for facial treatments. They don’t stay in for long, so there is no need for a child to keep still.

I treat children of all ages for a range of symptoms. And I’m currently specialising in paediatrics under the guidance of Rebecca Avern. I’m an active member of the Hub Of Paediatric Acupuncture, which is a global community of practitioners dedicated to supporting children’s health through acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.

Initial Consultation with Treatment (under 16) | £50

IVF pre- and post-embryo transfer treatments

I offer pre- and post-embryo transfer treatments to clients undergoing IVF with local clinics. Ideally, these should be carried out shortly before, and shortly after the transfer has taken place. Due to demand, and the fact that local clinics are carrying out transfers 7 days a week, I can also offer these on a Sunday with prior notice.

About Acupuncture

The aim is to direct the flow of qi to trigger your body’s healing response and to restore physical, emotional and mental equilibrium. Treatment is designed to affect your whole being as well as your symptoms so, as the condition being treated improves, you may notice other health problems resolve and an increased feeling of wellbeing.

The focus is on you as an individual, not your illness, and all symptoms are seen in relation to each other. As a member of the British Acupuncture Council I practice this traditional form of acupuncture. This BAcC video helps to explain it.

What conditions can it help?

Acupuncture, in my opinion, can be used to treat a huge variety of issues. Because it is based on the whole person, and correcting any imbalances in that person that cause disease or disharmony, it works from a very different viewpoint to western medicine. I have treated a large range of conditions, including migraine, hayfever, IBS, anxiety, depression, insomnia, back pain, neuralgia, menstrual issues and fertility, PCOS and more. If you have any questions about what acupuncture can do for you please get in touch.

Are needles always necessary?

There are several other techniques used in Traditional Chinese Medicine which I also offer, depending on your symptoms. These include using moxa (a herb which is used to provide heat during treatment), gua sha (where the skin is 'scraped' with a jade gua sha tool to stimulate Qi and Blood), and cupping.

Cupping involves glass or plastic cups which are used to create suction over an area, either with oils to slide over the skin or left in place over a particular point. These can also be extremely effective modalities, either on their own or alongside acupuncture.

If you need any information on how acupuncture can help a particular condition, please get in touch or look on the BAcC Website.
